The Stone is an experimental design intended to push the edges of airplane design. The Stone is an intentionally terrible design, using over the shelf products to destroy the original plane's already borderline airworthiness, creating a craft which is not by itself able to generate enough lift to stay airborn. Only through the liberal application of Unobtainium to the fuselage was the experiment able to go forward.
