House was exasperated with his team's superstitious nature and took Debbie the death-predicting cat to the coma ward to show the team the previous deaths were just a coincidence. However, he became distracted and Debbie wound up on Mr. Limpert's bed. By that time, Kutner had read some of the charts and realized one of the coma patients had a severe allergy to cats. The team high-tailed it out of the ward with Debbie in tow. Unfortunately, House's demonstration had the opposite effect of what he intended - Mr. Limpert died the next day.
