As a kid, South Italy had a crush on Belgium (who was older than him). He wanted to kiss her but when she wanted to kiss him on the cheek, he found himself unable to kiss her. Later though Belgium revealed she was only teasing him and felt bad for it. He also gets incredibly flustered and tongue-tied when Belgium praises him for his hard work, even getting flustered to the point of meekness and admitting he hadn't worked much at all. It is currently unknown what their adult relations are like, however in a scrapped comic they seemed to be spending time together, so their relations are likely positive.
