At the beginning of The Fires of Heaven, Alvarian is Keeper under Elaida. She takes control of the meetings until Elaida asserts her authority, and she is unruffled when Elaida does so. She was the first that Elaida took into her confidence about overthrowing Siuan Sanche, and she is the Keeper because Elaida needed the support of the White Ajah. When Padan Fain encounters her, he gets the feeling that she knows exactly who he is. At the beginning of Crossroads of Twilight, Alviarin has apparently left the White Tower, though nobody is quite sure where she might have gone.
