Kuttars were bayonet-like blade weapons that could be affixed to the end of energy rifles for hand-to-hand combat. The Albino's troops on Secarus IV used kuttars to battle Kang, Kor, Koloth, and Jadzia Dax in 2370 after their energy weapons were rendered non-functional by a tetryon particle field. (DS9: "Blood Oath") According to the script, kuttars was pronounced as "kut-TARS". [1]
