S-thread boosters were a form of hyperspace technology that brute-forced open tunnels where there were none before. It was considered a horrifically expensive method. The Galactic Republic used non-mass S-thread boosters planted in hyperspace to build the Koros Trunk Line. The Empire built the Gandeal-Fondor Hyperlane, the Byss Run and the Sanctuary Pipeline, an artificial extension of the Silvestri Trace leading to the remote Endor system.
