Fird was a fruit seller in Merwin County living in the village of Bigcliff. Fird was helpful to Vlad Taltos during his visit to the nearby village of Smallcliff by providing him information on Loraan, the local baron, whom Vlad had antagonized. Like the other inhabitants of Bigcliff, Fird used an unusual sentence structure when speaking, making it somewhat difficult for Vlad (and the residents of Smallcliff) to understand him.
