The Defenders of Shannara is a set of three stand-alone novels set in the Shannara universe which are loosely based around one another. The events chronicled in this series take place three generations after the events of The Dark Legacy of Shannara trilogy, and unlike most Shannara novels set in the Four Lands, the central character to these books is a scion of the Leah family, not an Ohmsford.
