These items were initially released in a way similar to the holiday drops in RuneScape's early years; Jagex moderators would give hints as to the location of a discontinued item and only one was available. When it was picked up, another would spawn in its place in a random location. To ensure that these items will remain available in the future, every time a holiday event is held, the corresponding items will also be available as rewards. For example, during a Hallowe'en event players will be able to obtain pumpkins, Halloween masks and all the other old Halloween rewards.
