Balrogs are most commonly found in the Hell levels of the original Diablo, except for 16. They are the toughest of the Balrog groups so if you don't have fire resistance, you'd soon wish you would have been more prudent. They wield scimitars, and can breathe fire (the animation mimics that of the Inferno spell). Avoid them if they are in groups because they mostly rely on their ranged attacks.
