[Source] Finth was a mage from Tretogor who, sometime prior to the Second Nilfgaard War, whipped up hysteria about the Curse of the Black Sun and called for the vivisection of princesses. Dandelion, however, composed a farcical ballad exposing many mage's faults and secrets. This not only discredited the mage and made him the laughingstock of Redanian capital, but also added to Dandelion's growing fame.
