When the Jedi Knight known as the Hero of Tython was captured along with the other members of a Jedi strike team sent to capture the Sith Emperor himself, Chaskar was appointed as one of the Knight's teachers in the ways of the Sith aboard the Emperor's space station. However, the Hero broke free of the Emperor's mental control with the help of the Force ghost of the Jedi's former Master Orgus Din after several months of training, and the Knight was able to influence Chaskar into departing so that the Hero and the Jedi's allies could escape the station.
