Migrant Barges (sometimes called "Immigrant ships" to sound more sophisticated) are starliners or freighters that routinely carry large numbers of Storage class passengers. Some such ships are little more than a command section mated to cargo bays fitted with the necessary power and monitoring equipment to maintain freeze fields while in transit. Some migrant barges go out of their way to advertise their status in an attempt to deter pirates. However, they do so at the expense of potentially attracting the attention of slavers.
