The 1997 MBNA 400 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Dover International Speedway on September 21, 1997. Mark Martin won his fourth and final race of the year in dominant fashion, leading 194 of the 400 laps in route to a 10.334 second victory on Dale Earnhardt.
