Lindy Haswell was Ruby Haswell's mother. Lindy arrived in the village after Ruby called her to ask for money for fertility treatment. Whilst in the village Ruby tells her mother about her sexuality and introduces her to her partner Ali Spencer. Lindy say's she will give Ruby the money to pay for the fertility treatment if she leaves Ali, stating that it is unnatural for a baby to have two mothers. Ruby initially agreed to leave Ali for the fertility treatment but she changed her mind after talking to Ali's son Sean.
