Hoshino (星野, Hoshino) is the current Kidō Corps Commander (鬼道衆 総帥, Kidōshū Sōshi) and the Grand Kidō Chief (大鬼道長, Dai Kidōchō), making her both the leader of the Kidō Corps and the strongest practitioner of Kidō to exist in the Soul Society as-of-now. Unlike her predecessors, Hoshino appears to be more actively involved in the protection of the Soul Society, often-times coordinating with the Gotei 13 and dispatching her subordinates on missions alongside the Shinigami of the organization in order to maximize their successes. Consequently, she is surprisingly well known among the common populace of Seireitei as a benevolent, albeit extraordinarily powerful, sorceress.
