High Admiral Mason Baron was born on Earth in 2485. His past is hidden in the shadows, but he is acknowledged as one of the brightest minds in the UNSC. He was resbonsible for the saving of New Giza, as was promoted to High Admiral and paraded around the inner colonies for this legendary feat. Baron was involved in Incident XXX, but his role in it is unknown. Mason Baron had long been known for his valor and ability to make tough choices, but has also been criticised for his want not to get himself dirty.
