On 31st May 2011, the United Provinces offically declared its independence from Greenland (part of Denmark) with the support of the UN and the Deltoran Republic. The newly elected monarch and prime minister seated the first government meeting in the capital and largest city, Port Richard. Within 24 hours of the nation's independence seventeen laws were already passed. It was also announced that Provincers would pay one of the lowest tax rates in the world.
