The Taiyuan Special Military District is one of six military districts for the East Asian Federation Land Self-Defense Force. It was established on November 26, 2011, by special order of the Federation Board. It has administration over the guard and protection of the southern border of the East Asian Federation with the Republic of China. Its headquarters is at Taiyuan Prefecture, Northeast China. A field command headquarters exists at Ruicheng, Yuncheng Prefecture. The military region commander resides at Taiyuan. The first and current commander is General Zhu Qi.
