It is the first new single by Fly to get radio play since his 1999 single, Gettin' It On. In a 2007 interview with Fly, he stated that the idea of the lyrics came about while in solitary confinement during his time in prison & was thinking of a news paper clipping. The article was of Freddie Hydro's guest which always said 'real talk'. With this concept, Fly produced the lyrics of this song.
