Thurston was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. Holding the rank of Lieutenant, he was Iris Babcock's first commanding officer. His family had enemies, and he was the first known victim of Denver Summervale, who took money for making people challenge him to duels and then kill them. Thurston was killed in the duel, causing Babcock to deeply hate Summervale. (HH4)
