Caribbean Groove was founded in 2001 after a chance meeting in New York. Lovian musician Steve Stone (son of George Stone) was doing a show when he had a chance meeting with Jamaican singer Damian King Jr. Stone and King decided to form a group combining hip-hop and reggae music. Later King decided to move to Lovia, and the duo were joined by Belgian Wout Hamelin and Bahamian Flora Westing. The group released their first album, Caribbean Groove, in 2001, to much success. Later that year, they signed on with Label Records and produced subsequent hits. After disbanding to pursue solo careers, the group re-united in 2009. They plays on the Label Records Festival in March 2012.
