Doris Pompitious was a paleontologist who expanded upon the work of the famed scholar Donald Rutledge. She examined various artifacts in the city of Pleynoth, creating various theories about the Azran Civilization. Afterwards, she deduced that the Azrans were as advanced as her own civilization, using a language as structured as hers; in addition, she believed that the Earth once possessed a vastly different ecosystem - a fact proven correct when Professor Layton discovered the Golden Garden. Acting on instruction from Rutledge, Pompitious investigated the Stone Circle of Pleynoth; it was this investigation that led to her conclusions regarding the Azrans.
