The Ring of Dúrin's Tribe was given to Dúrin III by Celebrimbor himself and was passed on by Dúrin to his heirs. The last known bearer of Dúrin's Ring was Thráin son of Thrór who had been captured by Orcs and withdrawn to Dol Guldur where he after horrible tortures finally surrendered his ring to the Necromancer.
