Santa(VAZF030) was born into the Aztecs on November 28, 2010 to dominant female Monkulus, who approximately two months before had mated with an unknown rover. She was born into a litter of four with two, litter-mate sisters named Turkey(VAZF028) and Scrooge(VAZF029) and one brother named Rednose(VAZM031). The pups survived their first few weeks and started foraging with the adults. Santa's mother gave birth to another litter, and by this time Santa could care for herself. In October of 2011, when Santa was merely, eleven months old, she began to show signs of potential pregnancy but soon aborted her litter.
