Cambuslang in South Lanarkshire is a town on the south-eastern outskirts of Glasgow, 6miles east of the city centre. It has a population of around 24,500. It was incorporated into the city of Glasgow in 1975 along with Ballieston and Rutherglen but in 1995, it once again became independent of the metropolis. There are some Victorian tenements and a few housing estates including the high rise housing scheme, Whitlawburn.
