He is the grandfather and only living relative of one of children taken in by rebellion, Cheng. His daughter also shared his interests, and was able to contribute to the rebellion before her death in battle. He seems to have had some contact with her up until her death, despite being restricted by Sphere facilities. His current status is unknown as of the events of episode 12.
