The player can encounter a recruitable ally in any stage, since the drops are not limited to Boss or Orange stages. For Chapter 1, the recruit or drop rate of higher grade Allies are more plentiful in harder difficulty modes. All sub-stages on a map stage have a chance to drop allies. It is unknown whether the chance of them appearing is higher for boss stages or not.
