Originally Yamato was in charge of a minor restaurant business on Nar Shaddaa until the Yuuzhan Vong war; when the extragalactic invaders littered the Hutt Space planet Nar Hekka with piles of bizarre, bioengineered plants. Yamato, along with other hutts, had fled to Nar Hekka. He started collecting and gathering the Yuuzhan Vong plants and keeping them in botanical gardens, as well as selling them off. This proved a highly profitable business, since the Jedi were set on eradicating all of the Invader’s biotechnology, and he was the only reliable supplier.
