In Space Sector 0666, a group of former Sinestro Corps soldiers try to escape from the purge of the Corps on a ship. They escaped from the Central Power Battery induced coma by cutting off their ring fingers. The hull is ripped open and they are attacked by Bleez and a force of Red Lanterns. On Earth, Rankorr attacks Guy Gardner while he just maintains a shield construct and tries to calm him passively. Guy tries to tell him that he has a choice and that a Blue Lantern can cleanse him of the red rage. Their conflict causes damage to the surrounding area and Rankorr saves Guy from getting hit by a car after asking Guy to help him. Guy is amazed to find a Red Lanter who could talk. Rankorr's ring pulls him to space and Guy decides helping bystanders is more important than dealing with Rankor
