Miriam Banister (née Voisey; 19 March 1817 – 9 April 1928) was a verified British-American supercentenarian. She was born as Miriam Sparks Voisey in Salcombe Regis, Devonshire, England to John and Hester Voisey. In 1850, she married John Banister. 4 years later, the couple emigrated to the United States. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1863. Her secret to a long life was moderate eating and living a stress-free life. On her 110th birthday, it was reported that she was in good health, other than that she was blind.
