The intro starts with Johan and Peewit riding their horses through the Smurf forest. They pass by a Smurf watching from a branch, who then hops off, and then dives through the hollowed-out log and towards the village, as the Smurf song begins. We then see a group of Smurfs (including Painter) painting a Smurf house, followed by a shot of two Smurfs on a sea-saw, taking turns to paint two different mushroom houses. At the village dam, Papa Smurf sings a verse, while back at the village, Greedy prepares a cake and Brainy opens one of Jokey's surprise gifts. The gift explodes and many Smurfs are laughing at this, but Grouchy Smurf says that he hate smiles.
