Talons dug into Snowkit's shoulders. He squealed in pain, though he was sure know no one heard him. Even if someone did, he wouldn't be able to tell, since he was deaf. He vainly tried scratching the the claws that held him, but the bird didn't even flinch. Suddenly another hawk swooped in and tried to grab him. The other screeched and dove. The other bird slammed into the hawk that was carrying Snowkit. While the two birds rustled, the hawk lost his grip, and Snowkit fell. He squeaked in terror and plummeted into some leaves. "Ow!"he exclaimed when he felt his head. "I'm deaf."he whispered. TBC
