The USS Thomas Paine (NCC-65530) was a New Orleans-class frigate that saw service with the Federation Starfleet during the 24th century. The ship was named after the American revolutionary, Thomas Paine, most famous for his pamphlet Common Sense, which helped to provide the reasons behind the revolution for many of the soldiers in General Washington's army.
