The Holy Empire was founded in 2 ABY as a Seperatist state of the Galactic Empire. The Holy Empire separated from the Galactic Empire with a significant chunk of it's ever declining territory thanks to the rebellion. The empire was fragmented and it was led to it's restoration and expanded beyond it's former territory by the Emperor of Truth.
