In 1170 the Celtic Union and Scandinavia had colonized much of northeastern North Brendania. Prince Madoc of Wales wanted to see the new land himself, and in 1170 set out to find it. He went to the new continent with 50 men and women with him. He explored the eastern seaboard before landing in Florida. He claimed the new land for Wales and started a settlement there known as Madoctown. The town flourished as many new resources were found. In 1180 Madoc returned on his 3rd trip to Madoctown. Once in Madoctown he led an expedition into the swamps of the Everglades. As little could be found in these swamps no settlements were formed there. Madoctown was the biggest settlement of New Wales and was the army headquarters as the settlement in Cuba was the naval headquarters. Madoctown was surroun
