The 1997 Coca-Cola 600 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 25, 1997. Jeff Gordon didn't have a good car for most of the night, but in between red flags for rain, Gordon found the magic combination, passing Rusty Wallace for the win before the race was called.
