No. The only Guitar Hero games you can play an instrument using the XBox controller are Guitar Hero 2, 3, and Aerosmith. As of Guitar Hero World Tour, only guitar controllers can be used to play Lead Guitar and Bass Guitar - the way the games work now, if it registers that an XBox controller is connected it will assume you're going to use it with a microphone or headset to play vocals.
