Vestig was an aide for the Imperial Advisor Coh Veshiv of the Galactic Empire in 0 ABY. At that time, Veshiv was on an inspection tour of the planet Esseles on the CR90 corvette Empire Forever. While Veshiv was at Esseles, the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Far Orbit's captain, Dhas Fenoep Vedij, volunteered to take Veshiv on the next part of his journey, so Vestig, along with fellow advisor Pich, accompanied Veshiv over to the Far Orbit in the shuttle Myrenia. However, it turned out that the Far Orbit was really an Alliance to Restore the Republic privateering vessel, and Veshiv was captured by the crew of the Far Orbit.
