Sylvia appears for the first time the day of Halloween. She introduces to Brooke in asking her candy. Brooke doesn't know her and notes her that she too old for that. Then, Sylvia asks where is her son and Brooke understands that she is Julian's mother. She later offers to pay for the entire wedding, but begins to give unwanted opinions, causing tension with Brooke. Eventually, they reconcile and Sylvia forms a friendship with Brooke's mother, Victoria.
