After the team goes through the gate, the team heads to the Magnetic North (which is actually the South) to a rocky ridge overlooking a valley. The planet is not unlike British Columbia, for some reason. There is smoke to the North which leads to a village. The team investigates the abandoned village. There is elevated background radiation, and Mordecai deduces that it's similar to the fallout effects of a dirty bomb.
