The Kid Sidekick Laws were passed in the early 1950s as an extension to the Child Labor laws. They prohibit the practice of a hero with a "kid sidekick". “The ‘Kid Sidekick’ laws were written to prevent superheroes from endangering the lives of minors without extraordinary powers. It’s been argued and accepted in court that minors with extraordinary abilities require extraordinary guidance and protection.
