The Ordeal of Kings, also called the King's Ordeal, is a trial that a new ruler of Tortall must pass before his or her coronation. The Ordeal takes place in the Chamber of the Ordeal, and, like the Ordeal of Knighthood, begins with a night-long vigil. The Ordeal of Kings is said to be rather short, although just as hard as the Ordeal of Knighthood.
