The Shilo Sector was a sector of the Republic of Haven. It was controlled from Shilo System Command in the Shilo System. In 1913 PD, Major General Seth Chernock was in command of the sector. He and Brigadier General Dennis Tresca, commander of the prison planet Hades, had a long-standing chess game. The absence of a new move in some message traffic tipped Chernock to the fact that something was wrong on Hades, so he took a task group from Shilo to Hades to investigate, which was wiped out in the Battle of Cerberus.
