Diane Louise Jordan appeared in Coronation Street as student Kate Winterton in September 1989. She was born on 28th February 1960 and trained at the Rose Bruford College. As an actress, she also appeared in Elphida, High Hopes and South of the Border but it was an appearance as herself on the BBC children's series Corners that brought her to the attention of Blue Peter editor Lewis Bronze and she was that programme's 19th presenter from 1990 to 1996 and the only presenter of that long-running programme to have also appeared in Coronation Street.
