Cardassian law was the legal system of the Cardassian Union. The written code of this system was the Cardassian Articles of Jurisprudence. (DS9: "Cardassians", "Tribunal") Cardassian law had stipulations on the custody of children. In 2370, Kotan Pa'Dar was fighting for custody of his son Rugal. Pa'Dar began citing a stipulation from this law when he was interrupted by Rugal's adoptive father Proka Migdal. Proka denied the applicability of this provision, stating, "There is no more Cardassian law on Bajor." (DS9: "Cardassians")
