Film critic Tadao Satō names as significant releases of this year, Naruse's Floating Clouds, Toyoda's Marital Relations, Uchida's jidai-geki A Bloody Spear at Mt. Fuji, Kinoshita's You Were Like a Wild Crysanthemum, Kurosawa's Record of a Living Being, and Gosho's Growing Up.
