Carrickstone is an area in the north of the Scottish New town of Cumbernauld. Work started in the early-mid 1990s on this area which is expanding rapidly. There is a famous rock named the "carrick stone" from which the area gets its name from. It is stated that the stone was used by Robert the Bruce on his way to battle with England.
