One of the Committee's duties was the confirmation of a new praetor. The Committee also served as a court when criminal charges were brought against members of the Senate. In 2375, Senator Cretak and Chairman Koval were both vying for an open seat on the Committee. Koval was given the seat after a Section 31 plot eliminated Cretak from consideration.
