The Caern faced two challenges: fewer and fewer cubs had been found over the last few decades--none at all after 1990--which depleted the never-large sept; and the land nearby was being bought quickly for use as ski resorts (and more Wyrm-based activity). When StrengthBringer left, it was down to 14 members; Karl arrived at the Wheel Renewed in early 1997, bringing news that the caern was destroyed.
